Instructor-Led Power BI Online Training Courses
We strive to ensure that our Power BI online courses provide all of the benefits of our classroom training sessions and are just as hands-on and interactive. Our online classes are not simply webinars and are in line with our philosophy of learning by doing. These remote Power BI training classes are small, with a maximum of 10 delegates and each person is given remote access to a computer in our training centre and provided with lots of opportunities to practice all of the techniques being taught.
Self-Paced Power BI Online Video Training Courses
To complement our face-to-face training, we also provide self-paced Power BI online video training courses. Our self-paced courses convey important topics via step-by-step demonstration and users are provided with all of the necessary resources to replicate the techniques shown as they learn. Our self-paced courses offer complete flexibility. Students can access course material at any time, both at work and from home, using any device.
Dual Online Training Solution (D.O.T.S.)
Although face-to-face training is almost always the most effective way of learning Power BI, complementing this with self-paced online courses is both convenient and cost-effective. Our Dual Online Training Solution (D.O.T.S.) provides your staff with two modes of training: live instructor-led training is followed by three years’ access to the self-paced version of the same course. The material covered in the live training will be very similar to that covered in the self-paced video training. Power BI 1 Week Intensive Training Course
Our 1-week intensive courses are designed for users who are new to Power BI, but who intend to use the program extensively in their business workflows and plan to use Power BI extensively immediately after being trained. By the end of the course, delegates will be confident in using Power BI, Power Query and the DAX language. The course consists of three components: Power BI Introduction, Power BI Intermediate and Power BI Advanced.
Power BI Introduction
Our Introductory Power BI training are aimed at those who are still new to Power BI and will familiarize subscribers to Power BI and Power BI Pro with the key features and operations of the Power BI service, as well as with the use of Power BI Desktop to prepare reports. By the end of the course, you will be confident in using the three main components of Power BI: Power BI Desktop, the Power BI Service, and Power BI Mobile Apps.
Power BI Intermediate
Our intermediate Power BI training are designed for users who are already familiar with Power BI and are looking to broaden their horizons when it comes to designing reports and dashboards. The course delves deeper into the Query Editor and the DAX language; it discusses Excel and PowerPoint integration; and shows delegates how to use custom visuals to construct interactive data narratives for their audience.
Power BI Advanced
This 2 day Microsoft Power BI training course is aimed at experienced Power BI users. Our advanced Power BI training delves into the M language behind the Query Editor, as well as the use of advanced DAX formulas. Delegates will also learn how to improve the user experience through the use parameter tables; how to centralize data by using dataflows and shared datasets; and how to work with advanced visuals and dashboard tiles.
Power BI Administration
This course covers the key administrative activities which can be carried within a Power BI tenant. Students will understand the implications of choices made using Power BI Tenant Settings and become familiar with the aspects of the Power BI service which are controlled by both global admins and Power BI service admins.

What computer equipment and software do we need if we want to book an in-house Power BI training course?
To run their own in-house Power BI training, organisations will need to have either a dedicated training room or a meeting room which can be used for training. Each person attending the training will need to have a computer or laptop running Windows 7, 8 or 10. Each computer will need need have the latest version of Power BI installed. Power BI Desktop is free and can be downloaded from Microsoft’s website. Fast and reliable internet access will also be required, both for the staff attending the training and for our trainer.
What Power BI subscriptions do we need before we can run an in-house Power BI training course?
If you book on-site Power BI training from G Com Solutions, you do not need a Power BI subscription. During the course, your staff will be given access to a G Com’s Solutions Power BI training tenant. (A Power BI organizational subscription is referred to as a tenant; and each Power BI tenant can have an unlimited number of users.) We find that this arrangement works best, since it separates training assets from your live data.
Do you provide any certification for students completing your on-site courses?
We provide certificates of achievement to delegates completing our Power BI training. We can also provide private instructor-led Power BI certification training, designed to prepare your staff for the exam DA-100. Please note, however, that the actual exam needS to be booked separately, at an exam centre, and will cost each delegate approximately £130, plus VAT.
